Hammer's growth continues as Emulex is named new vendor

Basingstoke, 28th April 2008 - Dedicated storage specialist, Hammer, has announced its most successful year yet, with growth across the board.

The first quarter of 2008 saw the distributor embark on a recruitment drive, continued expansion in Europe, and increases in both vendor portfolio and customer numbers.

The most recent addition to its expanding storage offering is the signing of Emulex, one of the leading fibre-channel HBA vendors.

"We are excited about the incremental markets that Hammer can offer Emulex, particularly into the SMB channel. Hammer's focus on the server virtualisation market is complementary to Emulex's virtual HBA leadership and will allow Hammer to offer total storage solutions" says Craig Skelton, Director of Channel Sales at Emulex.

“Getting Emulex on board was a natural step for Hammer”, states Jason Beeson, Hammer's solution sales director. “We now have a fully comprehensive offering of the highest-standard solutions in the fibre channel HBA market to fit any customer need”.

“We are of course staying focused on storage”, says Hammer’s managing director, James Ward, “but by continuing to expand our partner base, we are offering our customers more choice, and adding value to them in more ways”.

The news comes after a thriving start to 2008 for the company, following on from substantial year-on-year growth, and, last year, celebrating the most successful year of its 17-year history.

“Hammer’s growth in areas such as headcount, revenue, vendor portfolio and office locations are indicators of our continuing performance and our commitment to investing in resources that will enhance our customer offering”, says Ward.
